KUCHING: The Football Association Sarawak (FAS) unveiled the Premier League team kit and officially introduced players for the Premier League, President Cup and Youth Team  in a ceremony at the newly opened Mydin Petra Jaya here.

Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sport Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah urged the Crocs to buckle up and dominate the Premier League after last season’s disappointment.

“The fans and sponsors want dedication to be shown by the players and the management, and mismanagement will only lead to disappointment. Therefore lead the team back to its glory,” he told FAS and the players.

Karim, who spoke to the media, added that he was not informed of the spotlight problem at Stadium Negeri which would cause matches to be played in the evening rather than night.

“I would look into this matter as playing at evening will lead to a drop in the number of spectators and it is a loss to FAS. We hope that the team can play at night again after the first match, which is against Kuantan F.A on February 2,” he said.

He also called on corporate listed businesses and other bodies to step up and sponsor FAS to ensure that the team enjoy better finance and afford better players to bring the team back to the Super League in 2019.

Also present were Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports Snowdan Lawan and Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad managing director Datuk Wira Ameer Ali Mydin.
