HST police distribute free basic food to citizens

BANJARMASIN, S Kalimantan: The Central Hulu Sungai (HST) Resort Police together with its precincts is simultaneously distributing free food to the less fortunate people on Monday, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

“The distribution of basic food package is carried out in three weekly markets, each located not far from the sector police headquarters,” said HST Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Sabana Atmojo in Barabai, Monday.

A total of 132 packaged handed-out. The details are 60 packages at Birayang Market in South Batang Alai Police area, 37 packages at Haruyan Market right at the front of Haruyan Police Station and 35 packs at Pantai Hambawang Market in front of South Labuan Amas Precinct.

“The distribution of this free staple is the participation of the HST police to help the poor meet their daily needs,” Sabana told Antara News Agency.

Social activity entitled “Polres HST Peduli Sesama” is at the same time as Police effort to get closer to society.

“In accordance with the message and the direction of South Kalimantan Police Chief Brig. Gen. Rachmat Mulyana, that the whole range to enhance humanist activities, get closer to the community in various ways so that the presence of police members really felt the benefits by the citizens,” said alumni of Akpol 1999.

Sabana added, his rank is also concerned to maintain the stability of the price of basic commodities in the market so as not to jump up which resulted in the increased burden for the society to meet their needs.

To that end, he has instructed members to monitor in markets by meeting traders as well as checking food stocks for the HST District community.

“If there is an unusual price increase or suspected as a result of the game of traders or distributors, the Food Task Force will act decisively,” said Sabana.
