Elderly man stabbed to death, son detained for investigation

LIMBANG: An elderly man was found dead with stab wounds, in his bedroom in Batu Biah here about noon today.

Limbang District Police Chief Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the victim, Tiong Hock Sing, 70, was found at about 12pm, lying face-up, with no shirt and only clad in short pants, with injuries on his neck believed to have been inflicted with sharp weapons.

The victim was discovered by his wife, Rose Wong, who was shocked to see her husband in a pool of blood.

She then shouted for her neighbour who helped her to contact the police.

Mohd Bukhori said a patrol unit went to the scene and found the victim lying in the room in a pool of blood.

An ambulance was contacted and the medical officer who came confirmed that the victim had died.

“The victim’s son has been detained to assist in the investigation and the police are looking for weapons believed to be used in the murder incident,” he said.

He said initial investigation found that there is no forced entry into the house and no valuables were lost.

Mohd Bukhori said the victim’s body had been sent to the Limbang hospital for post-mortem.

Also present at the scene of the incident was the Deputy Chief of the Limbang District Police, DSP Tega Bilong.
