KUCHING: The Court of Appeal here struck out an appeal by the prosecutor against the decision of three search warrants issued on Pujut assemblyman Dr Ting Tiong Choon.

On Sept 13, 2016, a Miri Magistrates’ Court issued the search warrants to give permit for the police to conduct search in Dr Ting’ house, clinic and Miri DAP headquarters.

Prior to that, a direct BN candidate Datuk Hii King Chiong had filed an election petition to nullify the results for the Pujut state constituency after he claimed that Dr Ting had double citizenship.

The magistrate later granedt the search warrant applied by the police who went to the three places to conduct the search on the next day.

Lawyer Wong King Wei said the judges found the warrants were redundant and it had been executed, adding that there will be no more appeal in the case.
