Two men plead not guilty to having stolen motorcycle

MIRI: Two unemployed men were ordered by a magistrate’s court here yesterday to be released on RM2,500-bail with two local sureties after they pleaded not guilty to having a stolen motorcycle in their possession.

Awang Fadli Awang Jamaluddin, 37, from Kampung Lopeng Tengah and Razmi Johari, 26, from Lorong Sejahtera, Tudan Phase 6 were charged under Section 411 of the Penal Code read together with Section 34 of the same Code.

They could be sent to jail for not less than six months and not more than five years and a fine on conviction.

Based on the brief facts of case, the two accused were said to be in possession of a stolen motorcycle worth RM2,500 belonging to Mohd Syamsul Shuhasman Jamalus, 20.

They allegedly committed the offence at 2.20pm on Feb 1, at a budget hotel in Cressandra Road here.

Prosecuting officer Inspector Mohd Khairi Mohd Noor applied for a new date for case management as both accused had not pleaded guilty.

Senior assistant registrar Md Syafique Md Hilmie allowed the application and set Feb 21 for case management.
