KUCHING: Pos Malaysia has denied carrying out a purported online survey claiming to give out smartphones to ‘lucky’ respondents.

In a statement from Kuala Lumpur yesterday, Pos Malaysia clarified the online survey, which appears on certain websites, is a scam and is not authorised by Pos Malaysia in any way.

It pointed out Pos Malaysia does not enlist third party services in organising activities and all announcements are made via official channels such as its social media channels.

“We believe the scammer is trying to trick the respondents by using Pos Malaysia’s brand without authorisation. The alleged online survey lures the customer into responding to the survey by claiming the respondent is one of 10 respondents who have been chosen to receive branded smartphones.

“However, the respondent is required to answer four questions on Pos Malaysia’s services and provide their contact details,” said the statement.

Pos Malaysia advised the public to disregard such online surveys, adding it “shall not be held liable for any claims pertaining to the false scheme”.
