Go all out to ensure Barisan Nasional victory – Fadillah

KUCHING: The Youth members of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) have been called to go all out in ensuring that the state Barisan Nasional (BN) would ‘win big’ in the next parliamentary election.

Outgoing PBB Youth chief Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof deemed this as crucial in that the coming parliamentary polls would be the first for Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is also PBB president, to be leading the Sarawak BN team.

Speaking at the opening of the 14th General Assembly for PBB Youth and PBB Women yesterday, he called upon PBB Youth to pledge its strong and continuous support for Abang Johari in the election.

“The Youth wing needs to continue to go to the ground and explain the policies of Chief Minister, especially those relating to digital economy, and also to support him in getting back the Sarawak rights under Malaysia Agreement 1963.

“We must also ensure the success of DBOS (Development Bank of Sarawak) and Petros (Petroleum Sarawak Bhd) so that there would be more prosperity for Sarawak,” he said.

Fadillah, who is Works Minister and Petra Jaya MP, also paid tribute to past PBB Youth chiefs, including the late Tan Sri Celestine Ujang, for their contributions to the party.

Gerald Rentap Jabu is now the PBB Youth chief following unanimous nominations, where it was agreed that the party’s Pesaka section that would now hold the post.

Fadillah looks set to be the PBB’s new senior vice-president, representing the Bumiputera section, following unanimous nominations for him.
