Agreement signing ceremony

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP), Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, BIBD and Baiduri Bank Berhad are committed to contribute to the growth of the country’s economy. This is in line with the long term objectives of His Majesty’s government under Wawasan 2035 whereby they jointly facilitate financing to local businesses under the terms of the BSP Credit Facility Programme. Prior to the programme’s launch, a signing ceremony was held yesterday afternoon at the Indera Kayangan Ballroom, Empire Hotel and Country Club, Jerudong, brudirect.com reported.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dato Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry. Doctor Ceri M. Powell, Managing Director of BSP, represented the BSP, while BIBD was represented by Mr Mubashar Khokhar, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BIBD, and Mr Ti Eng Hui, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Baiduri Bank, represented Baiduri Bank. The agreement in the form of a statement of joint commitment formalises the mutual interaction and strengthens the relationship between BSP and the banks.  The program will operate for the benefit of the current and future local contractors of BSP who meet program criteria allowing them fast track service in reviewing and taking a decision on their respective credit applications. Also present was Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Permanent Secretary for Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Awang Haji Kamaluddin bin Haji Bungsu, Permanent Secretary for Manpower & SHENA at the Prime Minister’s Office.
