TAWAU: The opposition, especially Parti Warisan Sabah, will not win a single seat in Kalabakan division in the 14th General Election (GE14), said Kalabakan member of parliament Datuk Seri Abdul Ghapur Salleh.

Ghapur is confident the people in his area will reject the opposition parties, including Warisan in the coming election.

He said this is because after the last election, only Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) were actively meeting the people and working to resolve their needs.

For example, he said the Datuk Seri Najib Razak Hall at Merotai Besar is among the facilities provided for people to gather and carry out activities or programs, including businesses to increase their source of income.

“That’s why we are confident in the coming election, the opposition especially Warisan will not win a seat in the Kalabakan division,” said Ghapur who is also Kalabakan BN chairman and Kalabakan Umno chief.

He said he believes the people are wise enough to evaluate the actions of Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, who is seen to be blaming the government, but did not to do so while he was the Umno vice-president and a cabinet minister.

Ghapur said this after officiating the Series 1 Parenting Skills Workshop, Kemas Early Childhood Education at Dewan Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Sunday.

He called on parents to ensure that all their children received good education and said he was willing to help any outstanding students who are less fortunate to pursue their higher education.

Also present at the program were Sebatik assemblyman Datuk Abdul Muis Picho, Tanjung Batu assemblywoman Datuk Hamisa Samat and Kalabakan Umno deputy head Ismail Ait.
