LAHAD DATU: The Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom) has successfully produced its five-year strategic plan (2018-2022) during a two-day strategic planning workshop which ended yesterday at a hotel here.

ESSCom commander DCP Datuk Hazani Ghazali said the workshop which was organized with cooperation from the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU), aimed to re-evaluate ESSCom’s strategic plans that ended in 2017.

The workshop, he said, also aimed to work on a new strategic plan that would serve as a guide for ESSCom to carry out programmes and activities.

He said the plans were important as they aimed to achieve the objectives that have been outlined by ESSCom, which is to guarantee the security and sovereignty of the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZone).

Hazani said the plan would also lead ESSCom members so that they could work in line with the national needs and aspirations based on TN50.

“I thank MAMPU which always works together with ESSCom in building and planning its strategic plans,” he said in his speech at the closing ceremony of the workshop, yesterday.

Also present were deputy commander Brigadier General Datuk Badrul Hisham, Sabah MAMPU director Datuk Mohd Shuhaili Mohd Taufek, ESSCom Operation Centre Head of Staff, Brigadier General Datuk Md Rahim Mohamad and ESSCom Sea Operational Head of Staff, Laksmana (M) Kamaruszaman Abu Hassan.

Hazani also hopes that the strategic plan could fulfill the need and aspiration of ESSCom stakeholders, including increasing efforts to increase the integrity of security forces in Sabah east coast.
