KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman thanked Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob for his frequent visits to Sabah to provide allocations and things that benefitted the State.

“In the recent Menteri Besar and Chief Minister meeting, I told the Prime Minister that I am happy with Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri who often visited the State,” Musa said at the Mobile Entrepreneur Programme (Mobilepreneur@KKLW) yesterday.

Commenting on Mobilepreneur@KKLW, the Chief Minister said it is an effort by the Barisan Nasional (BN) government through the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKLW) to provide opportunities for young people to do business in the rural areas.

Musa said the programme assisted and encouraged youths, including women, to venture into business.

He said it was indeed difficult to start a business without capital.

With the motorcycles and equipment provided, he said the young entrepreneurs did not need to rent a shop or premises to conduct business.

He said participants of the Mobilepreneur@KKLW programme were also given training on how to do business in their respective fields.

“This is one of the ways we provide opportunity to the young people to become entrepreneurs, especially those who are unemployed,” he said.

On behalf of the State Government, Musa thanked KKLW for implementing the programme and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for providing huge allocation for Mobilepreneur@KKLW.

He said the BN always sought ideas that would benefit young people, such as the 1Azam and Tabung Ekonomi Kumpulan Usaha Niaga (TEKUN).

Musa hoped that the recipients would seize the opportunity given to develop their business and subsequently, assist their parents and families.

He urged the young entrepreneurs to make good use of the motorcycles and work hard to achieve success.

A total of 291 Mobilepreneur@KKLW motorcycles are allocated for Sabah under Budget 2017, of which 136 units were presented to the recipients yesterday while the remaining 155 units will be delivered in due course.
