BINTULU: Over 200 people thronged exhibition booths set up at Farley Supermarket here as part of a community policing programme between the police and the supermarket.

District police chief Supt Zulkipli Suhaili said the programme aimed to foster closer ties with the public and increase the level of cooperation when it comes to fighting crime.

“Through the programme, it is hoped that the public would be more aware of their role and responsibility in working closely with the police to make sure their neighbourhoods are safe and protected from criminal activities,” he said.

Deputy district police chief DSP Jame Reis, senior police officers and Farley management staff were among those present during the event.
