MIRI: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) is likely to field more new faces than senior members in the upcoming 14th General Election.

SUPP secretary Datuk Sebastian Ting disclosed this when approached by reporters during his open house on Saturday.

“The party has submitted names for consideration by the top leadership. We submitted three to four names for each of the seven seats allocated to us,” he told reporters.

According to Ting, who is also Piasau assemblyman, it is now up to the top leadership to consider and make a decision.

“We (SUPP) are ready and prepared for the election. Since the 2016 state election our machinery never stopped and all the time we have been on the ground to serve the people. We hope, together with the people, we will build a better and stronger Sarawak and a better nation,” said Ting.

On his wishes for the New Year, Ting said: “Looking forward for a better year as the dog is a symbol of a lot of energy and there is a saying that the dog is man’s best friend – sincerity and loyalty – and we are looking forward to a prosperous, bright and productive year ahead.”

Stressing on unity and better understanding among the people of different races and religions, Ting said it is vital for peace and harmony to prevail to ensure social and political stability in the state.

“Through our total acceptance of each other, we are able to enjoy each other’s company. The best part is we love peace and harmonious living,” he stressed.
