MIRI: Football Coaches Association of Malaysia (PJBM) is confident that the 33 new Class D license coaches in the state will be able to spot and groom new talent at the grassroots level.

The tasks ahead for these freshly upgraded coaches include talent search and development in rural areas and villages, said Wan Jamak Wan Hassan who was chief instructor of the Class D License Football Coaching Course which ended at Pustaka Miri yesterday.

The course was jointly organised by Sarawak Football Association, Miri Football Association and PJBM.

Wan Jamak also praised Miri FA development and coaching committee for their initiative in organising the course.

“This course is the best exposure to potential coaches to further their responsibilities and roles while guiding teams,” he said.

The committee has previously organized the Pre-C course, D License course and refresher course which also received encouraging responses.

Meanwhile, Miri FA deputy president Nazri Datuk Ahmad Lai is looking forward to seeing fresh coaching talents to be featured in the local league although he said the new coaches would have to work hard to win the confidence from teams to engage their service.

Also present at the closing ceremony of the course were FAS vice president and chairperson of the development and coaching committee Abang Suhardie Abang Zaini, assistant instructor Raja Isa Raja Akram and course coordinator Mohamad Hakimi Man.
