Putatan wants district police hq, education office – Yahya

KOTA KINABALU: Putatan is still striving for an independent district police headquarters (IPD) and district education office (PPD) for its deserving residents, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Yahya Hussin.

“We are grateful in Putatan, under the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, many of its plans had been implemented. This includes the construction of a district fire department which will be called for tender soon,” said Yahya, who is also Agriculture and Food Industry Minister and Petagas state assemblyman.

“Putatan District still needs an IPD, PPD because the administration now is still under Penampang District,” he stressed.

He also promised to handle issues such as the Putatan town environment, cleanliness, garbage, landscaping and other issues for the well-being of the residents as well as visitors, especially foreign tourists.

He said this when officiating at the Surau Muhajirin opening ceremony at Tamu Putatan here yesterday.

Yahya, who used RM50,000 out of the Petagas constituency allocation to build the surau, also wants the new surau to be fully utilized by folks at the Tamu Putatan vicinity.

He hopes that the surau could not only bring convenience to the local residents but also visitors in the tamu area.

The Petagas assemblyman also asked Muslims to fully use the surau for beneficial activities for the people besides being a place of worship.
