SEMPORNA: State Assistant Minister of Finance Datuk Ramlee Marhaban has described as malicious the allegation by Parti Warisan Sabah that Yayasan Sabah Group (YSG) was bankrupt.

He said the allegation made by the opposition party was to confuse the people and gain their support.

Ramlee said the allegation was absurd as YSG was one of the foundations in Malaysia that was growing rapidly.

“YSG is divided into various branches and YSG is involved in businesses such as farming, retailing, tourism and is also having subsidiaries that are contributing to its income,” he said.

Ramlees aid YSG’s capability can also be seen through community services which are implemented continuously to assist the people of Sabah.

He said various community services such as providing scholarships, building houses for the poor, establishing colleges and many others were implemented by YSG to assist the people.

He said YSG was also holding various programmes to produce excellent human capital and strengthen leadership among other services.

He said if YSG had no capability or bankrupt, it would have no funds to do community services for the people.

“Assets belonging to YSG can also be seen anywhere and the latest is the construction of a convention centre that will become a landmark for YSG.

“With all these, how can they allege that YSG is bankrupt? I believe they are making allegations without checking on  facts,” he said when met after a programme in Semporna.

Ramlee who is also the assemblyman for Bugaya said that  under the leadership of Tan Sri Musa Aman, YSG would continue to grow in the various sectors.

He said YSG’s contributions to the people through community services were worth much more than the cash contribution which was practised previously.

“I do not see any changes should be made on YSG or Sabah as shouted by the opposition, for everything under the leadership of the Chief Minister is already at its best.

“The opposition is just full of hatred. They are using various issues to mislead the people but I believe people are matured and wise to evaluate all this,” he added.
