KOTA KINABALU: A 49-year-old man claimed trial at the Sessions Court here yesterday to two counts of raping a 15-year-old girl in Penampang.
Danny Aisal, who was brought before judge Azreena Aziz, denied a charge under Section 376 (2)(b) of the Penal Code.
He faces a jail term of up to 30 years and whippings, if found guilty of the offence.
On the first count, he was alleged to have raped the girl at ‘Rumah Kongsi’ in Penampang at 10pm on April 15, 2017.
On the second count, he is accused of raping the girl at the same place at 11pm on April 16, 2017.
The court fixed June 25 – 26 this year for trial and ordered for the unrepresented accused to be further detained in custody, pending disposal of the case.
