SARIKEI: A collision between a car and a motorcycle claimed the life of an 18-year-old male early yesterday morning.

The deceased, identified as Presly Untul, was riding his motorcycle towards Jakar bazaar when the accident happened around 6.30am.

District police chief Supt Awang Arfian Awang Bujang said initial investigation indicated that the teenager’s motorcycle went out of control and veered into the path of an oncoming car.

“The impact of the collision caused the victim to be flung from his machine.

“He was pronounced dead at the scene, while the car driver was not injured,” he said.

Police are investigating the case under section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
