Severed head: Man to be charged with murdering wife

SRI AMAN: A local businessman, whose wife’s severed head was found along the bank of Batang Lupar River here on March 3, will be charged for murder in the Magistrate’s Court here today.

State CID chief Datuk Dev Kumar, who disclosed this yesterday, said police have gathered sufficient evidence to charge the 42-year-old man under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

He also revealed that police have so far been unable to locate the rest of the woman’s body, but said that the search is ongoing.

The 31-year-old victim, who is a Chinese national, married the suspect in 2011 and lived with him here along with their two children.

Her husband claimed she had run away from their home but had failed to lodge a police report over herdisappearance.

The woman’s father had positively identified the severed head as belonging to his daughter.
