Geronimo to stamp his class against a fourth division field.

KUCHING: Black Russian can defy promotion to go two-up by taking out the Class Two field over 1000M in Race Four at the Mile 8 Penrissen course here this morning.

The four-year-old, promoted after an easy first-up win in Class Three last week, looks good enough to follow up on that victorious debut with in a second straight win today.

With Jasmi Kamar in the saddle and drawn in a safe barrier four, the Beraya Stable’s brown colt is the pick among the five stablemates in the race. He looks good for a double.

Demoted Bukan Lawan Nya (Maruf Wahab) should throw in a strong challenge.

The eight-year-old who placed fourth to Crescendo last week, can step up on that effort to reassert his dominance and end a long losing sequence.

The Beraya Stable’s roan galloper, who has been racing under the radar, can find his strides and challenge strongly for supremacy. Wind Chaser, second to Crescendo last week, deserves another chance. To be ridden by Roslan Bujang this time around, the eight-year-old can step up a notch.

Don’t write off Geronimo in Race Two (Class Four – 1000M).

The former Class One racer can atone for his disappointing showing last week with a reversal of fortune today. With a better rider (Jasmi Kamar) up, the seven-year-old should stamp his class against an average field of fourth division runners.

The challenge should come from two stablemates – Perfect Dancer, an easy winner last week, and Dash For Cash, the runner-up in the same race.

Crescendo (Mazlan Bujang) can make light of promotion to Class One by chalking up a second win in as many starts in Race Five over 1000M.

The four-year-old who won by a distance in Class Two last week, can follow up on that impressive performance with a bow to the judges first up in top company.

The chestnut mare, a big money winner on the first weekend, is the one to run down.

Dream Catcher II can mount a strong challenge by parlaying his all-the-way victory last week into a double today.

With a solid first weekend performance under his belt and Roslan Bujang taking up the reins, the five-year-old looks set for another strong showing – bar the likely wet track conditions.

The other challengers are Suaji (Jasmi Kamar) and Monolita (Maruf Wahab).
