SEMPORNA: Nine schools in this district have been selected for rehabilitation through the RM1 billion allocation announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak in the 2018 budget.
Assistant Minister of Finance Datuk Ramlee Marahaban said this was among the efforts undertaken by government to provide better environment to student.
Ramlee said, through this project, dilapidated schools would be repaired to provide a conducive learning environment for schoolchildren.
“I believe that there is no other government like Barisan Nasional (BN) that always is committed in improving education.
“All these efforts are in line with government’s aspiration to produce quality human capital,” Ramlee, who is Bugaya assemblyman, said various efforts had been implemented by government as it was aware of the importance of education.
Ramlee said the government always listened to the problems and needs of the people in all aspects including in education, health, living cost and others.
Therefore, he hoped all parties would involved in the effort to preserve education in order to produce quality human capital.
Meanwhile, Ramlee said all parties concerned, including the local leaders should be involved in carrying out the government’s efforts to meet the educational needs of the people in the country.
He said the government was giving full commitment in this effort as education was important to boost the student’s achievement.
The government, he said had provided allocations through the ministry and department, however, it could not cover all the needs.
Therefore, he said, the local leaders should play their roles and provide assistance to cater for their needs, especially immediate needs.
“The local leaders must be sensitive and aware of the needs as education is important to change the mindset of the people.
“Through education, we could produce quality human capital that ensure better future and reduce poverty,” Ramlee said this when met after the presentation of chairs to 53 schools in Semporna, yesterday.
According to Ramlee, who is also the Bugaya assemblyman, it is important for local leaders who support the government’s aspiration to be involved in the effort as we all want to preserve education.
“The government always listens to the needs of the people and always strive to meet their needs, not only in education but in other aspects as well.
“I believe that there is no other government like Barisan Nasional (BN) that always committed in developing the country and its people,” he added.
