Fajar International College CEO Dr Peter Tham presents the President’s Scholarship Entrance Award to new Diploma in Business Studies student Tham Jia Fan.

MIRI: Graduates of Fajar International College’s Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) can apply for direct entry into degree programmes at local universities with credit exemptions.

Internationally, DBS is well-recognised as the equivalent to a second year bachelor’s degree by selected and reputable universities in the United Kingdom and Australia, while some universities also accept it as entry requirement for the final year or top-up degree programme, enabling students to graduate within one academic year.

The diploma is a well-rounded business programme which provides the fundamentals of business and management, covering topics including management, accounting, human resources, operations, marketing and sales to give students knowledge and skills needed for employment market or further studies.

Graduates can find employment in almost all business sectors and fit well in positions such as sales and marketing, administration, retail, or wholesale operations.

The diploma is fully accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency and Ministry of Higher Education.

Graduates have the same recognition as diploma holders from local public tertiary institutions under the government’s Public Service Commission employment scheme.

Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia school leavers who do not meet the minimum entry requirements for the diploma can begin with the Certificate in Business Studies (CBS).

This qualification is for school leavers who have a passion for business operations, including fields like sales and marketing, administration, and even entrepreneurship.

Students will gain a basic knowledge of business and commerce. Those who successfully complete CBS can enter the diploma programme. The new intake is now open.
