Embrace modern technology in doing things — Naroden

KUCHING: The people are urged to embrace modern technology in dealing with works transaction, which already becoming the trend, says Assistant Minister of E-Commerce Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais.

He said technology and the Internet have dramatically changed the ways of doing things, which  the people must keep abreast with.

“Everybody is going for modern technology, whether in  manufacturing, construction, office filing system, administration and communication, be it in agriculture, health medical or in business. This is the trend today.

“As such, we must be prepared to embrace modern and high technology in order to increase productivity in tandem with the modern demand,” he said at the presentation of certificates and awards to winners of Sarawak Region Excellence Team Mini Convention here yesterday.

Organised by Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) Sarawak Region, the event was participated by 127 people from 27 organisations.

Naroden, who is also Assistant Minister of Entrepreneur and Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs) Development added that the people must also change their working culture based on modern and high technology.

He said the state government was aware that modern technology and Internet would play a very significant role in the economy, which was why Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg launched the state development policy based on digital economy.

“Only through this (digital economy) will the state develop in all sectors in the future,” he said.

He also said that those in the business sector wanting to  master modern technology must market their products and services online.

MPC Sarawak director Tengku Azmi Tengku Majid and a member of its board of directors Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg were also present at the function.
