SERIAN: A man was killed while another was in critical condition when the car they were travelling in was involved in a fatal crash nearby Kampung Ensebang, Plaie along Jalan Serian- Sri Aman near here today.
The multi-purpose-vehicle (MPV) was travelling towards Serian from Sri Aman, when the driver lost control, causing it to crash into the ditch.
State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) assistant operations director Tiong Ling Hii when contacted said the department received the distress call at around 2.07pm.
A team of firefighters from the Serian fire station, who were deployed to the scene, upon arrival immediately conducted their rescue works to extricate the victims out of the vehicle.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The only passenger, who suffers severe head injuries was unconscious and was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Tiong pointed out that the rescue operation ended at 3.11pm.
