KUCHING: The 48th Brunswick Ballmaster Open 2018 champion Sin Li Jane is optimistic of winning a place on the podium in her debut in the Sarawak International Open Tenpin Bowling Championship.

The 25-year old national bowler told The Borneo Post on her arrival at the Kuching International Airport yesterday that she is in good form.

“I just want to enjoy the game and hope all will be good. The start of this year was pretty good with the Ballmaster title and I look forward to do better here in Kuching,” she said.

After the Sarawak tournament she will be heading to the United States for the Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) in June.

Meanwhile, men’s defending champion Rafiq Ismail hopes the Sarawak event will be a first step as he builds his momentum for the new season. “I hope to have at least a top three finish for this tournament,” he said.

The national bowling team arrived here yesterday for the tournament which will be held at Megalanes Sarawak, Batu Kawa from April 25 to 28.
