KUCHING: Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) is confident that new face Jagah@Subeng Mula being fielded to contest in the Saratok parliamentary seat in the 14th General Election (GE14) is able to garner majority support as its incumbent Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom.

Its president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing believed the 55-year-old candidate was equally capable of retaining the seat with the strong support and trust given by state Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“We will do our best to win all the four seats contested,” he told reporters when met after the announcement of Sarawak BN candidates in GE14 by Abang Johari at the PBB headquarters here yesterday.

Earlier Abang Johari announced that out of the 31 parliamentary seats in Sarawak, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) will contest in 14 seats, Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) seven, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) six and another four by PDP. — Bernama
