BATU PAHAT: Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB)’s success in managing the company for 40 years since its establishment should be emulated by everyone, especially those in politics, when making decisions.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said his suggestion was because every decision made “without anger, hatred or sense of disappointment’ would lead to success.

He added everyone and every organisation would go through difficult times, but these must be resolved with the interest of the public in mind above personal gains.

“In life, there will be times when a person is tested, whether politically or in their corporate life, but they must view these positively,” he said when speaking at the closing ceremony of the Amanah Saham Malaysia 2018 week at Batu Pahat Stadium here yesterday.

Ahmad Zahid added he was impressed with PNB’s ability to excel without any abuse of power despite the fact that its top management was constantly changing.

“I never detected or heard any negative stories about PNB. I never heard of any abuse of power. This reflects its culture and integrity which were laid by its founders, even though its chairmen changed.

“PNB has always been a professional entity,” he said.

Separately, Ahmad Zahid stressed that the current government was open to criticisms and views of all parties on any matter.

However, he said these criticisms must be constructive and not destructive, and if they were laced with anger, disappointment and hatred, then their rationality would be lost.

“Please remember, we can give our views, but admit that success comes with sincerity,” he said.

“If there are any criticisms, we in the government will rectify it,” he said.
