BN’s Rosnah challenged three new faces in Papar

PAPAR: Voters in the west coast of Sabah will witness a battle of new faces as Barisan Nasional incumbent Datuk Rosnah Abd Rashid Shirlin takes on debutants in a four corner fight for the Papar parliamentary constituency.

Rosnah who helms the seat since winning uncontested in 2004 is going for a third straight term but ready to upstage her plans is Warisan candidate Ahmad Hassan who is contesting for the first time.

Also vying for the P.175 seat are fellow newcomers Jamil William Core (STAR) and Elbert Sikuil for Parti Cinta Sabah.

Papar parliamentary also comprise the state seats of Kawang and Pantai Manis where BN incumbents Datuk Ghulam Haidar Khan Bahadar and Datuk Abdul Rahim Ismail are also facing formidable challenges from Warisan and candidates from other local parties.

Challenging Ghulam for the Kawang seat is Salleh Eddris (Warisan), Matlin Jilon (Harapan Rakyat) and Wahid @ Harith Ismail (Anak Negeri).

For Pantai Manis, Rahim will go against Datuk Aidi Mokhtar (Warisan), Herman Mianus (Parti Cinta Sabah) and Harapan Rakyat’s Datuk James @ Ebi Ghani who is the only seasoned campainger of the lot.

Returning Officer Adanan Atin made the announcement at 12.45pm after no objection was made.
