Incumbent Stephen Wong faces BN’s debuntant Lim for Sandakan seat

SANDAKAN : Sandakan parliamentary seat will witness a straight fight between Sabah Democratic Action Party (DAP) chairman, Stephen Wong Tien Fatt and the new face fielded by Barisan Nasional (BN), Datuk Lim Ming Hoo.

Incumbent Member of Parliament Sandakan, Wong arrived at the nomination centre, Sandakan Community Hall at 9.03am. Wong’s proposer was his daughter Lavina Wong and seconded by his son Wong Pei Wu.

Lim who is vice president of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) cum Sandakan BN Secretary arrived with BN supporters as early as 8.30am marching along the Coastal Road towards Sandakan Community Hall.

Lim’s proposer is Khoo Keok Hai, seconded by Awang Kadin Tang.

Earlier in 13th General Election, Wong had won the P.186 Sandakan who defeated BN’s Liew Vui Keong with a majority of 1,088 votes.
