KUCHING: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) has pointed out that the Barisan Nasional (BN) Sarawak is not similar to their counterparts in Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia.

This was because BN Sarawak will never let any other BN component parties based outside of Sarawak to come in to the state.

According to the party members who spoke during a ceramah held at Emart Batu Kawa area, only Sarawakian parties can fight for the rights of Sarawakians and SUPP is one of them.

Hundreds showed up to attend the political talk here last night.

During the event, a few of the party members including BN candidate for Stampin Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian gave talks on the importance of voting for BN Sarawak.

“Although we (SUPP) are the same BN coalition, we are purely interested in the rights of Sarawakians. We assure Sarawakians that we are ourselves and we wont let (other BN component) parties based outside of Sarawak take over this state as long as we are around,” added Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang.

Dr Sim on the other hand pointed out that how much that Sarawak will lose the power to fight for their rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 with the federal government if they do not vote for SUPP or Sarawak BN.

Apart from that, he also reminded those present to realise that BN Sarawak has done a lot of development for the people and that the opposition is nothing but talk.

“The opposition only know how to look only (tengok  sahaja) and do nothing. How can they serve the people if they are all talk but no action?” said Dr Sim.

Also present during the event were SUPP Kota Sentosa branch chairman Wilfred Yap, Youth Central chairman Michael Tiang and others.
