Huge turnout for early voting

KUCHING: It was a calm sunny Saturday as postal voters went to the cast their votes at various polling centres in early voting yesterday.

At Kem Semenggo here, huge turnout of army personnel were seen queuing up to enter the polling centre.

Traffic outside the camp was smooth as traffic personnel were seen directing motorists.

The army personnel and their spouses formed two long queues outside the polling centre to ensure quick voting process.

Meanwhile, State Deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Pahlawan Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim was among those who cast their vote at the state police contingent at Jalan Badruddin here.

A total of 10,436 police personnel were eligible for postal voting throughout Sarawak.
