Sentuhan Kasih programme greatly helps 30 students from SMK Dato Permaisuri

MIRI: Thirty students from SMK Dato Permaisuri (SMKDP) received contribution amounting to RM3,000 from National Security Council (MKN) yesterday.

The contribution of RM100 to each student was witnessed by Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Miri parliamentary constituency Datuk Sebastian Ting during the ‘Sentuhan Kasih’ programme run after Asar prayer at Masjid Jamek here.

Jointly run by the Information Department and Miri Division Special Affairs Department (Jasa), the charity programme benefitted 18 students from needy families and 12 who were involved in the collapse of concrete pathway last month.

The contributions were presented by state MKN deputy director Major Raja Azamawi Raja Isa.

The mosque also received 500 pieces of Surah Yasin booklets from Jasa during the event.

Miri Information officer Wahid Mohamad, Miri Jasa information officer Dayang Norazelina Hamdan, Temenggong Abdul Rahman Fadzail, Penghulu Sameon Gani and Penghulu Abdul Samad Alip were among those present.
