See Hua Consumer Fair at Boulevard Shopping Mall kicks off Thursday

MIRI: Following the success of the 17th edition of Miri Trade Fair (Mitraf 17) held at Permaisuri Imperial City Mall in January this year, See Hua Marketing Sdn Bhd (SHM) in collaboration with the management of Boulevard Shopping Mall, Miri will host the inaugural edition of See Hua Consumer Fair commencing Thursday, May 10.

Joining in the four-day fair will be 28 exhibitors showcasing products like home appliances, water filtration products, kitchen and sanitary wares, beauty and slimming products, higher education, home improvement products, batik attire, car accessories, property development, insurance, laminated flooring, consumer goods, handicrafts, as well as cakes and pastries.

In addition, there will also be 42 food vendors selling a plethora of local delicacies during the Street Food Fair located at the outdoor area of Boulevard Shopping Mall held concurrently with the See Hua Consumer Fair. The food fair will feature a host of  ‘pasar malam’ (night market) foods like pan-fried fish, barbecued chicken wings, meat skewers, ‘keropok lekor,’ ‘chang’ (meat dumplings), ‘siu mai’, deep-fried chicken chop, burgers and many others. In addition, there will also be booths inside the mall offering ready-packed foods.

There is also a mini food fair organised by students of Pei Min Secondary School.

According to organising chairperson Jocelin Kuan, the event serves as a platform for SMEs and entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services to the public.

The fair promises to be fun-filled with a host of new crowd-pulling activities such as singing and dancing competition, readers benefits programme, fun games, Cosplay drama and dance, children singing competition, Chinese poetry competition, musical and cultural show, health check-up (blood pressure and glucose test) among others.

In a quest to find the most beautiful mothers, the Beautiful Mama pageant will be held on Friday, May 11 at 7.30pm.

Another highlight will be the Cosplay drama and dance by a team from the Miri Cosplay Club directed by Sunny Yee bearing her Cosplay name ‘Sunny Flower’, which will enthrall visitors on Friday and Saturday at 7pm and 5pm respectively.

A special three-hour ‘Boulevard Rush 3.0’ event organised by Boulevard Hypermarket will be held on Saturday May 12 at 12.30pm.

The Miri Chinese Writers Association will also hold its very own charity fair throughout this four-day consumer fair.

The event sponsors include Julie Biscuits, My Kafe, Sports Toto, Boulevard Hypermarket, Foo Ann Kang Medical Store, Tong Seng Huat Rice Trading, Meritz Hotel, Broadway Wedding House, Anita Food Industry, Indocafe and Rubine.

See Hua Consumer Fair opens daily from 10am to 10pm and will end on Sunday, May 13. Admission is free.
