KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) deputy president Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan has disclosed that the party will be holding a supreme council meeting this Wednesday.

However, when asked if the meeting is to discuss on whether PBB would be joining the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, he declined to comment further.

“Just wait for the meeting,” he told reporters when met after officiating the International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) HackWeekend at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here today.

Though Awang Tengah, who is also Deputy Chief Minister, remained coy on what would be discussed during the meeting on May 16, it is believed that the party led by its president Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg will touch on matters concerning the direction of the party following the collapse of Barisan Nasional (BN) in the just concluded 14th General Election (GE14).

Six political leaders from the state including two Independent MPs who won seats in GE14, joined PKR yesterday.

The six are former deputy president of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), who is also former minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun, two Independent MPs Larry Sng Wei Shien (Julau) and Jugah Muyang (Lubok Antu).

The other three who joined PKR were Datuk Sylvester Entri Muran, who is a former state assistant minister, Robert Lingga Mangge and H. Khoo.
