KUALA LUMPUR: A discussion on the political involvement of PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will most likely be held after Hari Raya in June.

His lawyer, R. Sivarasa said that as Anwar had been given a full pardon, he could now be involved in politics and efforts would be made so that Anwar could return to Parliament.

“This is my opinion and not his decision. Maybe after Raya, we will discuss with him (Anwar).

“Logically, nothing is going to happen during Ramadan. He needs rest as well. He is a free man once he walked out from this hospital, it was still a “prison” for him even though he is treated here,” he told reporters at the grounds of Hospital Rehabilitasi Cheras, here today.

Anwar left the hospital to proceed to Istana Negara for an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V at 12 noon.

Anwar, attired in dark blazer, left the hospital grounds at about 11.33 am in a Prison Department vehicle accompanied by his wife, Datin Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Meanwhile, Sivarasa also indicated that a by-election should be held to enable Anwar to become a Member of Parliament but declined to comment further. – Bernama
