KUCHING: RTM Sarawak will embark on its annual Jelajah Ramadan 2018 from May 20 to June 3.
In a press conference held at Mydin Petra Jaya yesterday, its deputy director Faridah Sulung said they would be doing things a little differently this year.
“We will be holding events on weekends starting on Friday,” she said.
The programme will start on May 20 in Limbang. On May 25, they will be in Miri, followed by Bintulu on May 26 and in Sibu/Kapit/Sarikei/Mukah on May 27.
On June 2, they will be in Sri Aman/Betong, before heading home to Kuching via Serian and Kota Samarahan on June 3.
Organised by RTM Radio programme division, the programme will be hosted by SARAWAKfm as well as area stations across the state.
The programme is an opportunity for RTM staff to celebrate the fasting month and help those in need.
It is also a way for RTM to acknowledge their listeners as well as to foster closer relationship with the agencies coming on board this year.
Meanwhile, SARAWAKfm manager Saiful Arini, who is RTM Sarawak Jelajah Ramadan 2018 coordinator, said there would be various events held at each stop.
“RTM Kuching as the host this year will also distribute bubur lambuk at Mydin Mall Samariang, present assistance, break the fast, and record SARAWAKfm Raya programme.”
The programme will be made known through Selamat Pagi Malaysia (SPM) on TV1 every morning for the duration of the event.
