MIRI: Fajar International College (FIC) welcomed some 80 new students for its May intake during an orientation programme at the beginning of the week.

A spokesperson said the students are enrolled in the Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (DipOSH), Diploma in Accounting (DIA), Diploma in Business Studies, and Diploma in Human Resources Management.

The DipOSH had the highest number of new students.

Fajar is the first in the region to offer the DipOSH, which has recognition and approval from the Malaysian Department of Occupational Safety and Health (Dosh) and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, United Kingdom (IOSH-UK), as well as full accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

DipOSH graduates, upon gaining three years of work experience, can apply for the Green Book from Dosh and register as Safety and Health Officers (SHO), and also gain international recognition.

The sought-after DIA is to date the only college diploma in accountancy with full MQA accreditation and approved by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).

It is a fast-track and highly reputed programme that enables students to obtain two different qualifications upon completion – the DIA and Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) UK.

The Diploma in Business Studies and Diploma in Human Resource Management are also approved by MOHE and accredited by MQA.

Fajar is still enrolling students for the new intake.  Contact Fajar on 085-644803, visit www.kolejfajar.edu.my, or email [email protected] for details.
