MIRI: The Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) here will be closed for two days starting today.
Miri UTC manager Mohd Nurhisham Ismail said this following the state government’s decision to declare May 17 and 18 as public holidays in accordance with Section 5 of the Public Holidays Ordinance.
On May 10, the Chief Minister’s Office announced May 17 and 18 as public holidays, while May 10 and 11 were working days as usual.
The announcement follows the statement by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa that May 10 and 11 be declared as public holidays in conjunction with the 14th General Election.
For Sabah and Sarawak, the two states must declare additional public holidays in accordance with their respective ordinances. — Bernama
