MIRI : Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sarawak will use a common ‘Harapan’ logo for the first time to contest in the 12th state election scheduled to be held in 2021, said PH Sarawak secretary Alan Ling Sie Kiong.

He said the common logo will served as a united political identification,  especially in the event of elections and the soonest PH could use the logo is in the next state election due in 2021, which could also be called for earlier.

“I believe PH will further strengthen the organisational structures and coordination to have a more organised framework and efficient platform to formulate communication and better working relations among its component parties,” he said today.

Ling said the primary focus and utmost duty is to restore the state’s rightful position built on the basis of immutable rights enshrined within Malaysia Agreement of 1963 (MA36) and Federal Constitution of Malaysia.

Speaking for PH Sarawak, he said: “Our task is to restore Sarawak its original status as well as to commit to the devolution of powers in term of trade and commerce , taxation, education, sport, civil service, health, social security, infrastructure development, oil and gas and tourism among others.

“Within 100 days, a special cabinet committee consisting of representatives from peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak will be set up to enforce the rights under MA63 and to report the findings and its recommendation for effective implementation to the cabinet within six months,” he added.

The Registrar of Societies (RoS) has earlier this week approved the application of Pakatan Harapan as a political coalition, which means its logo can be used in the next election, be it state or parliamentary polls.
