KOTA KINABALU: Beauties contending for the State Level Unduk Ngadau competition this year will have a bigger prize waiting for them if they win.

The contestant crowned as the Unduk Ngadau shall bring home RM12,000 in cash prize.

While the second and third prize winners will each receive RM8,000 and RM6,000 in cash prize, respectively.

The cash prizes for the contest were raised as Infrastructure Minister cum State level Kaamatan main organising committee chairman, Datuk Peter Anthony felt that the former prizes given were inadequate to cover the contestants expenditure taking part in the contests.

Also increased were the cash prizes for the Sugandoi and Songkotoun and the KDCA International Student Cultural Exchange Programme.

About RM52,600 in cash increment for this year as compared to last year.
