SANDAKAN: Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) Permanent Chairman Datuk Liew Vui Keong has refuted the claim that he is to be appointed ministerial and deputy ministerial posts at the Federal level.

“I wish to refute claim by certain irresponsible quarters that alleged parliament members from Party Warisan Sabah have been appointed to the various ministerial and deputy ministerial posts at the Federal level.

“There is no truth in the news that is best described as fake news and this has been circulating in the social media that stated, amongst others, that I’ve been appointed to be a full cabinet minister in the federal government.

“This is totally untrue,” he said.

Liew who is also Batu Sapi member of parliament, said that Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has yet to name the second batch of cabinet line-up which will largely be MPs from Sabah and Sarawak.

“What happened yesterday (Monday) at the Istana Negara was the swearing in of the first batch of his cabinet line-up. I was present there in my capacity as Warisan’s Permanent Chairman together with our Deputy President Darrel Leiking, the MP for Penampang.

“Our presence is to represent our Party President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal and Warisan at the swearing-in ceremony of the first batch of the Federal Cabinet Ministers before His Majesty DYMM Sri Paduka Yang Di Pertuan Agong at the Istana Negara.

“I’ve been made to understand that the swearing in of the second batch of the Federal Cabinet Ministers involving both Sabah and Sarawak MPs will be held in about two weeks from now or earlier,” he explained.
