KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg attended a breaking of fast with heads of state and federal government departments as well as agencies at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex here on Tuesday.
Datin Patinggi Datuk Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang – Abang Johari’s wife, also joined the event together with ministers and assistant ministers as well as their wives.
A total of 50 underprivileged children from the Nur Murni Care Centre received ‘duit raya’ from Abang Johari after Maghrib prayers and the ‘buka puasa’.
The event continued with Isyak and Terawih prayers, and then a light meal.
Among those present were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip, Assistant Minister of Coastal Road Datuk Julaihi Narawi, DUN Deputy Speaker Datuk Gerawat Gala and Kuching South Mayor Datuk James Chan.
