Practise good hygiene, food safety, Ramadan bazaar hawkers told

MUKAH: Hawkers are reminded to practise good hygiene and food safety when preparing and selling food and beverages at the Ramadan bazaar.

They should also be courteous and safeguard the safety of those who come to patronise their stalls, Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad said.

“Every food and beverages and others that are prepared must not only look delicious and tasty. The aspect of health and safety of patrons is always a priority and should not be overlooked,” he told Utusan Borneo when met at the Majlis Perasmian Bazaar Ramadan Daro and the distribution of ‘Bubur Lambuk, Bubur Pedas, Bubur Kacang’ and cakes on Monday evening.

Also present at the event was the MP for Igan, Ahmad Johnie Zawawi. Safiee told the hawkers to use the Ramadan bazaar as an opportunity to earn extra income but reminded them to be honest in their business dealings.

“If the hawkers are honest and prioritise hygiene, customers will be more willing to buy their food and drinks, he said.

He also reminded patrons to the Ramadan bazaar to spend wisely.

“There is nothing wrong in spending money but you must spend it wisely,” he added,

A total of 70 stalls are participating in the Ramadan Bazaar in Daro, which is organised by the Women Wing of Parti Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB) Daro branch and Single Mothers Association of Daro District.
