PENAMPANG: United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (Upko) secretary general Donald Peter Mojuntin urged the authorities to investigate an allegation made against the party president of receiving bribe following the just concluded 14th General Election (GE14).

Mojuntin, in his police report, claimed to have received a posting in Facebook under the account ‘Sabah Sarawak Future’ slandering party president Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau of receiving RM30 million to turn his back and work with Parti Warisan Sabah-Pakatan Harapan to form the state government.

“The allegation also claimed that Tangau was promised and offered the deputy chief minister post.
“We, Upko, strongly condemn the allegation which is seen as trying to undermine the good image of Tangau,” he said after lodging a police report at the Penampang police headquarters yesterday.

Mojuntin also said the posting allegedly claimed that bribery was involved in the formation of the current government.

“We urge the police and the relevant authorities to take immediate action and to investigate this case,” he said.
