KOTA KINABALU: The ultimate decision on the Tanjung Aru Eco Development (TAED) will be in the hands of the Chief Minister, said Kota Kinabalu MP Chan Foong Hin.

“I think it is under the discretion of the Chief Minister with the cabinet, to discuss about it.

So I as a Member of Parliament for Kota Kinabalu would support the state government ‘s stand in deciding anything further for TAED,” said Chan who noted that the project had been a big deal in the past,.

He was speaking to the press after the Kota Kinabalu Development Briefing at Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) today.

During the briefing, Kota Kinabalu City Mayor Datuk Yeo Boon Hai revealed that the TAED project had been gazetted but works had been halted in consideration of the winning parties’ manifesto and pledge to the people.

According to DBKK information, a certificate of assent had been granted by Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin on March 5, 2018.

The government gazette was then published on April 5, 2018.
