KUALA LUMPUR: Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd’s net profit for the first quarter (Q1) ended March 31, 2018 fell to RM31.20 million from RM50.60 million in the same quarter last year.

Revenue rose to RM167.16 million from RM161.05 million previously, mainly driven by better revenue generated from Samalaju Industrial Port Sdn Bhd and bulking facilities, it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

On prospects, Bintulu Port said the handling of liquefied natural gas will still be the main revenue contributor in 2018.

“Other cargoes that are expected to contribute positively towards 2018 performance include container, palm oil, palm kernel, alumina and ferroalloy,” it said. — Bernama
