SIBU:Sukan Malaysia (Sukma) Perak 2018 is less than 110 days away. So said Sibu Resident Charles Siaw when he addressed those present at the closing of the Sports Science Course Level II held at a hotel here on Friday.

“The approach of Sport science in the training aspect is of paramount importance,” he told course participants.

The five-day course attracted 29 participants including those from the State Sports Council (MSNS), school teachers and coaches from sport associations throughout Sarawak.

Siaw pointed out that the state government encourage coaches to increase their coaching knowledge through the Sport Science approach.

Youth and Sport officer of Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) Mikar Changgan, who spoke earlier, said the course was to equip coaches so that they could train athletes in line with current technological development. It was also in line with the vision of SSC to make Sarawak into a sports powerhouse.

Head of MSNS Central Zone Gloria James Juat was also present.
