PENAMPANG: Continues rain since Thursday have caused severe floods at several areas here in Penampang.
Penampang District Office (Flood Operation Room) in a statement stated that 14 villages, namely Putatan Inobong, Tanaki, Kolopis, Tuavan, Bansadon, Penampang Proper, Dabak, Kasugui, Babah, Sugud, Kibabaig, Babagon, Pinapah Kondis and Nabazan, were badly affected by flood.
Seventeen roads were also impassable by small vehicles especially heading towards Donggongon town.
Flood evacuation centres have been in operation since Thursday night and statement from the State Fire and Rescue Department expect more centres will be open if rain continue.
