KOTA KINABALU: A below par Sabah suffered a 1-3 defeat to UKM FC in the Premier League tie at the Likas Stadium on Saturday.

It was the Rhinos first home defeat, which also stretched their winless run to seven matches in the league.

UKM got off to a bright start when striker Wan Mohammad Faiz Wan Sulaiman stunned the homesters with the opening goal just 30 seconds after the kick off.

Sabah’s Puerto Rican striker Hector Ramos levelled the game with thunderous shot in the 14th minute.

However, Michael Chukwubunna Ijiezie’s 33rd minute header and Sein Nam’s stoppage time goal sealed the victory for UKM.

The Rhinos remained fifth in the 11-team table on 15 points achieved from three wins, six draws and four losses.

Sabah will next face UiTM FC away on June 7.
