Military Battalion 621 thwart syabu-syabu smuggle from Malaysia

NUNUKAN: Border Security Task Force of Battalion 621/Mtg have thwarted one kilogram of narcotics type of syabu-syabu smuggled from Malaysia, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

The Border Security Task Force Commander Lieutenant Colonel Inf Rio Neswan via telephone on Sunday confirmed his men have secured syabu-syabu at Tunon Taka Port, Nunukan District, at about 03:00 predawn.

The success of catching syabu-syabu (crystal meth) started from the public information about someone who brought the illicit goods from Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia.

The person in the initial interrogation conducted by the border troops confessing the sabu-sabu was an errand of a prisoner in Balikpapan Penitentiary, East Kalimantan.

Rio Neswan added that the case of sabu-sabu smuggling has been submitted to Nunukan Police for further legal process.

“We have submitted it to Nunukan police to be followed up,” he said.

Meanwhile, the 101/Antasari (South Kalimantan) Provincial Military Commander (Danrem) Colonel inf Yudianto Putrajaya gave appreciation to the performance of Yonif 621/Mtg Border Security Task Force in preventing the entry of drugs into Indonesian territory.

“Our principle is to fight the drugs and protect the Indonesian people, especially the young generation, to avoid the dangers of drugs for the sake of survival that will come,” said the number one person in the South Kalimantan Military Command (Korem) 101/Antasari.
